Saturday, June 11th (by invitation)
Unveiling of BCBHAS Community Stories Wall Graphic

sxʷeŋxʷəŋ təŋəxʷ James Bay Branch, Greater Victoria Public Library  The official event ends at 3:00 pm, the library will remain open until 6:00 pm.

In 2019 BC Black History Awareness Society entered into an agreement with Digital Museums Canada to produce an exhibit, about the stories of BC Black Pioneers, for the DMC collection of Community Stories. The permanent online exhibit opened in December 2020. The Greater Victoria Public Library has designed and installed a permanent wall graphic in the Mifflin Wistar Gibbs community room at the branch, to recognize and celebrate the historical and contemporary community connections this online exhibit represents. Live Music Festival

Ships Point at Victoria’s Inner Harbour. Event includes food, music, dance, and other attractions and activities.


Saturday, November 26th
Colourful Business Conference

Organized by Kulea Culture Society in partnership with the City of Victoria, BC Black History Awareness Society and Songhees Development Corporation, Colourful Business Conference will be at the Victoria Conference Centre; promoting Indigenous, racialized and new immigrant businesses and enterprises in Victoria.
